ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

Randal Keith with Musical Director, Philip Fortenberry

Randal Keith is best known as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables. He appeared in Les Miserables for nine years and nearly 3000 performances on Broadway and the National Tour as well as Canada, China, and South Korea. His love of musical Theatre started a bit later than most young performers, not discovering theatre until his college years, but as soon as he performed in his first play he knew there was no going back. It was summer stock theatre that lead him to Chicago and that lead to his first real break with the First National tour of The Phantom of the Opera. He has played The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera and also played Raoul, Monsieur Andre and Piangi during his six years on tour and three years in Vegas.

After the closing of the tour of the original production of Les Miserables, Randal moved to Las Vegas in 2007 to open the Vegas production of Spamalot as Sir Bedevere and eventually taking over the role of King Arthur. Most recently, Randal starred in Steve Wynns Showstoppers.

It was near the end of Phantom-the Las Vegas Spectacular that Randal, along with Bruce Ewing and Ted Keegan, began creating what would eventually be known as The Phat Pack. We wanted to create an evening of songs and stories that really inspired us. A chance to do what we do best. Sing songs that we love with the people we wanted to work with every night. The Phat Pack ran for a year at the Plaza hotel in Las Vegas and is now touring the country. Randal has now created his first solo show, “The Music of Robert Goulet: Broadway and Beyond.” Randal’s rich baritone voice is a perfect match to recreate many of Robert Goulet’s most loved songs from numerous Broadway shows such as Camelot, Man of La Mancha, Brigadoon, South Pacific, Carousel, and many more. His first solo CD, "Life Has Been Good To Me" is available through iTunes and CD Baby.

Philip Fortenberry, pianist, has played for ten Broadway shows and has performed in concerts from Lincoln Center to Carnegie Hall, from the Kennedy Center to the White House. His one- man-show, “The Man at the Piano”, continues to play to sold-out houses around the country. Philip was the piano double for Michael Douglas’ award-winning performance as Liberace in the HBO biopic, “Behind the Candelabra”. Philip is the music coordinator for the Broadway Series at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas and is also the organist for Community Lutheran Church.

“Randal has a beautiful voice and showcased Robert's music with depth, sensitivity and understanding. It was also very apparent that he did a lot of research as he weaved the tapestry of Robert's life. Thank you Randal for bringing a smile to my face. I know that Robert was looking down upon you from his window up above and smiling.”
